Westwood Sunglasses...

Summer is in full swing and sunglasses are clearly a necessity for your summer time activities. I grew up in a family where my Grandpa is a very talented carpenter and my dad also did woodworking. So wood crafted things have always intrigued me. Not only that but I have a lot of entrepreneurs in my family so supporting local has been a BIG thing for me. So when I was contacted by Westwood I was STOKED to say the least. This company is a local Utah company (#REPRESENT), these sunglasses are wooden sunglasses made out of different types of wood.

They are getting ready to launch their tribal line and they are doing it through Kickstarter, they are a great company with quality products. I'm telling you these glasses are sturdy. Perfect for beach days, lounging by the pool, or longboarding down the canyon.

It's over at the end of the month so if you want to support them you should do it soon.

Two Piece Lovin'...

It's kind of ironic because I look at these pictures and think "Yeah, I'm a total city girl." Then I remember that I was bunny huntin' and shootin' shotguns last night... So I guess you could say I love and live the best of both worlds. Because I love the big city shopping, and I am beyond excited to visit NYC this summer, however I love camping, shootin' guns, and anything that goes along with any of that...

I have been looking for a two piece set that I love for MONTHS now and I cam across this one from Pleated Empire, and lets just take a moment of silence for it...................

Like do you see it? The pattern is great, the color is even better, the neckline is on point and the length of the skirt isn't too long nor too short. Not to mention that it fits like a glove without making you look weird in those areas you might feel uncomfortable about, oh... and it feels like you are wearing a cloud. Okay bragging over, just make sure you check them out they have so many cute items, if you aren't about the one piece life they've got you too!!

Floral Kimono + Flower Lush Mothers Day Giveaway..

Oh hey blog, you do still exist... Sorry I have been MIA these last couple of weeks have been CARAZY!!! But this weekend I was sick and had no other option but to lay in bed for what has now almost been 72 hours straight, minus the trip I took to the doctor, and to McDonalds to get a diet coke last night... I'm an addict of that stuff, guilty as charged.

The only thing I have to say about this outfit is these are some of my staples. Loose fitting black tank, black leggings, kimono. If you don't have a floral kimono yet, you NEED to get on stat. Trust me.

It's Mother's Day this coming Sunday, so I have teamed up with a couple of awesome bloggers to giveaway a gift package from Lush. Please scroll to enter it would be a great gift for your mom or if you need some pampering yourself, because lets be honest who doesn't need some extra relaxation and bath bombs in their life?

I have been wanting colored sunnies like this for such a long time, and I found some on polette.com they have such a wide selection of frames and different colored lenses, you won't be disappointed.

April snow storms bring May..?

Like I said I had another look from STAY and here it is. It snowed in Rexburg (LOL it's April) so why not share a cozy warm outfit? If you guys like companies with a meaning this is one to check out. STAY is all about being yourself all the time. "Stay who you are" you can then attribute that meaning to whatever you would like but for me wearing stuff that has a meaning is much more powerful than putting on whatever because it looks good. Hence my OBSESSION with Alex and Ani. This beanie is definitely comparable to my Neff beanie and its cheaper... soooo like get one!

Gearing up for Spring semester here at BYUI (it better freaking be warmer than it is right now) I've moved apartments, living with new girls, have a new job that is on campus and trying this whole being a responsible adult thing... We will see how that goes. I like to pretend I don't have to be one of those but it keeps biting me in the butt... So hopefully this time it sticks.

Sometimes life hits harder than you thought possible...

PRE CURSOR: THIS WILL BE A LONG POST...

Sometimes I look at my life and think, what the heck have I accomplished? Why am I 21 and still in college with 3 years left to go? Why do I change my mind like every minute of what I want to do with my life? (ie, I'm not going to hair school anymore and will be finishing college online, but that will be for a different post). Today was freaking rough, emotionally, mentally, physically, you name the emotion I felt it... and as I'm sure you know being a roller coaster is not something that people enjoy and look forward to...

Even though today was so hard and I am beyond relieved that it is over, I realized something today. I realized that even though life sucks, life is beautiful. Even though there are sucky people in your life there are ones that are beyond amazing. Even though we feel extremely low at times those moments are matched with extreme happiness. Life is BEAUTIFUL, and nothing that is worth it is easy. The best things in life are the ones that you struggle through because at the end of it you can look back and say "yeah, I beat the shit out of that and became a better person because of it." We get to have sucky days, weeks, months, maybe years so we can realize how freaking awesome we are as human beings. If we didn't have the struggle, what would the reward be?

I have been so blessed these last couple of months to build relationships with extremely amazing people. People that I can call and cry about stupid things to, and that will listen to me and genuinely express concern for my irrational emotions. People that will sit around a kitchen counter with me and say "don't give up, it'll be hard, but you gotta try before you run the other direction." People that have been by my side the last two extremely hard years and still are willing to listen to me on the phone and make me feel like I'm important, even when they are having a hard time themselves.

The company I am featuring on my blog today has a very special place in my heart. This isn't just a clothing line, it's a way of life. STAY. The whole idea behind this company is to stay who you are, be yourself, you do you and let them do them. There are a couple of different sayings printed on the shirts, but I chose Stay Free because sometimes I get so worried about who I am going to disappoint, where I am going to be next, what is going to happen a year from now etc. I think it is important to let loose and just be what you want to be. They also have other great clothes (I will be posting another look in a couple of days). But be sure to check them out and follow them on instagram @staywearclothing

Life is hard but life is beautiful.

forget the mold and DO YOU

So like I said in my Instagram post last night I am making an announcement today. A life announcement, this decision is going to change the direction of my life and I'm so excited! If you have been reading along you might have picked up on the fact that I absolutely DO NOT like college. It is probably the most dreadful thing.... ever.... Sure is the social life fun? Yes it is! Is the living on my own exciting? You betcha. But is college thrilling? HELL NO it's not!

So here's the lowdown... I've decided to go to cosmetology school!! I wanted to do this during my senior year of high school but was discouraged to do so.. The story begins last weekend when I went to a local hair salon here in Rexburg with the intentions of dying my hair to a silvery blonde. L O freaking L, 5 hours and way too much money later I walked out of the salon and felt so ridiculously ugly I wanted to cry and never leave my apartment again. So the next day I called another local salon called Tami's and they got me right in to fix it. That time when I left I felt hot as hell and I was ready to take on the world. A couple of days later I got a phone call from my homie who I sometimes call Mom, and she said "You hate school, you are only there because you feel like you have to be and you don't enjoy it. Have you ever re thought about going to cosmetology school?" well truth is I had, when I was leaving the first salon I wanted to be a stylist that NEVER let anyone walk out of a salon looking the way and feeling the way I did about myself that day.

I love people and getting to know them on a personal basis. I love creating truthful and honest friendships with people, I am someone who would rather someone leave feeling better than the way they came. So I am excited to embark on this new journey starting here in Rexburg on April 14. I know it is going to be a long year that will still throw me many challenges, but I'm ready to take them head on. A special thanks to all my family and friends that are supporting me in this decision and making me feel like it truly is what I will thrive at.

Polette Eyewear + Giveaway

Well for starters I'm blonde again!! Oh, and maybe a little bit of blue is in there too... Let me just talk about people for a second... People can be cool, fun, entertaining, uplifting, and all that other good stuff. Let's just say that I am probably the only person in this WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD that is ready for this Christmas Break to be over and school to be back on, all because I am ready to be back with my people. The good ones, the happy ones, the fun ones. My mom has always said "you have a big impact on other people, a ripple effect, whether that be good or bad, you have an impact, and it doesn't just end at that one person." Okay mom thanks for the overwhelming wisdom. Because as I get older this statement just hits me harder in the face every year. So lets be those positive people this next year that make crazy people like me want vacations to end because you miss your people so much! I'm making it a goal to be someones person, someones happy person.

Now on to these awesome sunglasses from Polette! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM. Okay but not only do I love the ones that I'm wearing in this post, but their whole website is soooo unique. Never have I seen as many tasteful but unique sunglasses and frames in one place as I have on Polette. You buy a pair of sunglasses from them I promise you will be the only one in town that has them, you'll be the kool kid on the block. Basically you need a pair of their frames, and guess what? It is your lucky day because I have teamed up with them to give one of my readers/followers just that! Just scroll through the post to the bottom and enter the giveaway at the end ***there are entries you can do more than once, which means more chances to win*** I chose sunglasses because I do not need corrective lenses, however Polette also offers frames that you can get to be adjusted to your eyesight!!

Cheers To Christmas Break

CHRISTMAS BREAK IS HERE. Finals are over, homework is (almost) over, apartment is cleaned, the semester is over!! It's been a weird winter here in Rexburg, we haven't really got much snow til recently. Obviously these pics were taken before the snow hit. But good ol' Rexburg didn't forget the wind, always the wind. Never stops. But I still kind of like it here. This outfit is simple but characteristic at the same time. I paired the aztec cardi with a burgandy shirt (freaking love this color, so glad it's in this season) As always wearing my favorite store on my arm Alex and Ani. Honestly I could shop there for hours and still not have enough bracelets. They are an awesome Christmas gift *hint hint* I hope everyone enjoys the Holiday's! Thanks for reading today :)
