3D Fiber Mascara & a Floppy Hat

I found a product I want to tell you guys about. Because you will LOVE it. I used to get eyelash extensions, which I'm sure many of you have tried. I loved mine while I had them but unfortunately I love picking at my lashes (not good, I know) but once I didn't have them anymore I also didn't have any lashes left. I'm not exaggerating when I say I had probably 3 lashes on each eye. I cried a lot that day to say the least.

I have been on the search for the mascara that will help my lashes look fuller and longer. We've all seen the commercials for Covergirl, Maybelline, etc. But I found a product that legit works!! It's one of the many products by the cosmetic company called Younique, the 3D Fiber Mascara. It's a little bizarre the first time you use it, I'll be honest. You apply the gel (that's black) and then you apply fibers to the lashes while they are still wet and then top it off with more gel to seal it. You can do as many coats of that process that you want. In the first picture I only did one, then in the outfit pictures I added a second coat.

Younique products are all natural! That's good news especially for you ladies who are allergic to normal makeup. Another awesome thing about the mascara is that it is water resistant, yet comes off super easy with water and facial cleanser. So you can cry all you want without smearing it and becoming a raccoon, but wash it off super easy when you're done.

Younique is an awesome company they have more than just mascara so for you girls that get your lashes done, head on over and check out their other products, such as lipgloss, pigments, foundations, and blushes to name a few!
The links on this page will last for ONLY 10 days, so be sure to go get some product while you can. Let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to answer them.

I also went and got a fresh brow wax from Spa Trouvé today in Highland. I didn't even know we had a spa in Highland so I'm pretty excited about that. Not to mention a 60 minute massage starts at only $49 so that's definitely happening soon :)

* Just A Little Sparkle *

A little sparkle never hurts anyone. I'm not one to wear a ton of sparkle and glitter and jewels. But I do love some glitz and glam! I love this shirt because it's an ombre shimmer. I bought this while I was on vacation with my dad at Priest Lake. It was raining the ENTIRE time I was there, so I convinced him to take me to Spokane to indulge in my shopping problem... So we did! We had a fun time exploring the two malls of Spokane that we went to, well at least I did. Pops kinda followed like a puppy or sat on benches. Either way, it's a good memory.

Confession: Sometimes I shop in the Men's Department....

Yeah, the title says it all. This shirt is definitely a mens shirt from H&M. But it's cute, and it fits well if you just go down a couple sizes. So, why not right? I love baseball tees because they are so simple yet super cute. Plus this shirt says Nashville on it, as well as a batter, so I couldn't not buy it.

Realization of the week: I watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty last night and basically decided life is super boring if you choose that. You have to do things outside of your comfort zone, as well as actually do SOMETHING in order to make life exciting. I'm stoked for the next two weeks because I have absolute freedom before school starts, so I get to make life as exciting as I want to! :) summer may be over for most of you, but I'm still going strong! Shout out to Rexburg for that little perk! Anyway, here's to Thursday, everyone's favorite 'Almost Friday' day!!

Love Me Some Eddie!

I recently just got my camera so I can start taking good pictures on my own. I'm LOVING it. Biggest purchase I have ever made in one swipe of the plastic, but it has been worth every penny and I haven't even had it for a week yet.

Off topic, I've recently started to sew... Honestly never thought I would have those words come out of my mouth, or be typed onto a screen. But I am loving it. I'm making a quilt for my bed at college. I've been doing it with my little sister. I have a couple DIY projects, so as I finish those I will be putting step by step tutorials up on the blog! :) As for now, I'm just going to say how much I love Eddie Bauer. We always get sweaters from them at Christmas time, but they (in my opinion) have some of the best plaid shirts! As well as other hidden gems.

Is it Fall yet?

I might get slapped for saying this... But I'm beyond excited for fall. It's been a little chilly in Utah, so the other day you bet I brought out the flannel and boots. Might be a little teaser considering I'm going to be going boating all weekend (hopefully enjoying some sun) but Fall has always been my favorite season. Plus, I turn 21 this Fall. So it is bound to be a good one.

Side note: do ya'll have that late night music you listen to? I'm really digging this acoustic playlist I found on Spotify, but I'm always looking for new music. So if you have something worth sharing, do let me know :) also I would love to hear from my readers, anything specific I should blog about? Products people want reviews on? Let me know! Find my email on my contact page :)

Dutch Braids. LOVE THEM.

FTND - My Story

Okay guys it's time to get real. This post is less about clothes, and more about an issue that is sweeping the globe. An issue that so commonly gets swept under the rug and never gets talked about. But the truth is, how are we supposed to be educated about something unless we talk about it? How do kids know that smoking isn't good for them? Because we talk about it, and therefore they are aware of the affects it could have. The truth is there is a new drug, and it's pornography.

So here is my story, and the reason I have decided to talk about this issue on my blog.

I was any other baby born in to a cute couple living in Provo Utah, a happy family living in Utah County the dad finishing up school at BYU. Two and a half years later my little sister came along and I had an instant best friend. We grew up with two loving parents, going on family vacations, having fun at the lake, and spending time in our backyard with each other; the typical American family.

I grew up with parents that loved each other, parents who supported us in what we did, and who gave us the world. I watched friends go through divorce, I met friends who's parents had been divorced and now had step parents, and step siblings. Never in my life did I think that would be my family. We loved each other, we got along, life was good.

One day in November that all changed, I learned of a Porn problem in the family (this post has no intention of pointing fingers, but to bring attention to an issue that has more problems then what lies on the screen) we were going to work through this as a family, because that's what families do. They love each other and help each other through the hard times. However after a week of changing things in our lives, being better at praying together, reading the scriptures etc. It was brought to the attention of the family that the addiction had moved from the computer to infidelity.

As any woman would my mom decided she could no longer live in this situation, that was when my parents separated and my family's lives would change forever. It has been almost 8 months now and as of today my parents are officially divorced. I'm now one of those kids I never thought I would be. Now my family gets to join hundreds of thousands of other families who are broken due to this new drug brought to us at extreme convenience thanks to the 21st century.

That is why I have total respect for Fight The New Drug. A foundation that is trying to bring this issue to the attention of people in a positive and cool way. Check out their website, become part of the movement. Because as cool as the industry makes it out to be, it isn't. Porn destroys families, and relationships. It is a drug of the 21st century, being backed by countless medical studies.

I hope that maybe my story can be shared in hopes that it changes someone's mind about clicking enter on that link, or purchasing that adult package on a business trip while alone at the hotel. In hopes that I can help to maybe save a future family, so theirs doesn't end up like mine, broken and un-repairable.

So in closing, a huge thank you to the porn industry with helping destroy my family and countless others, while making a profit off of our pain.

Black Bird Singing In The Dead Of Night...

Do I wear this tank often? Yes!!! I wear it alllll the time. It's legit one of my favorite pieces in my closet. See it in other posts here and here. I bought it at Ross a couple years back, if you find a similar tank anywhere I suggest you snatch it right off the rack.

But let me take a minute and introduce you to my new all time FAVORITE store. I'm obsessed. It's called Alex and Ani. They mainly sell bracelets with some earrings, necklaces, and I have a keychain as well. This store is awesome. Each bracelet you buy has a charm on it, the bracelet comes with a card that tells you a little bit more about what the bracelet signifies. Each bracelet is made in America, with recycled materials, and infused with positive energy :) you can buy different bracelets that signify different things in your life, you build up your arm and create a collection of positive reminders. They have some charms where proceeds of your purchase are given to different charities, as well as they give student discounts! Major plus. I kid you not I will go in every two weeks when my pay check processes to add to my collection (it has grown since these pictures were taken). I highly suggest going in to their store at City Creek and checking out what they are all about. I PROMISE you will not be disappointed, and almost guarantee you walk out with a little arm candy! :)

Who's getting pumped for The Fourth? I know I definitely am!!:)

The round charm is 'path of life' symbolizing what I have gone through and who I have become from it, and the friends charm is one I got with my bestie Rachel, it is a charity bracelet. :)

Sundress Lovin'

If I'm being honest I found this dress in my Mom's sewing room the week before we left on our cruise. It has to have been sitting there for at least four years now. The question is why did I wait this long to find it, and wear it? It's the perfect white dress for summer! In this post I styled it a dressy casual way, next week I plan to style it completely casual. We found it at Ross a few years back. But good thing for timeless pieces like this one right? Pairing it with this Camo Jacket was perfect. I LOVE this jacket. One of my best purchases ever. It goes great with so many different outfits! Anyway, shout out to the weekend! I love Friday's. I'll be spending mine at a campfire by the lake :) what are you doing?
